AI assistants
VEDUTUM in your AI assistant
Ask Claude or ChatGPT about points, the shadow on your site on 21 December or the right CAD export — without an account. Connect your VEDUTUM account and the assistant works in your projects: it has a floor plan read into a measured model, lists rooms and areas, furnishes, sets roof and facade, puts solar modules on the roof and creates the share link for your client. It all runs through an open interface (MCP).
What the interface does not do: it makes no images or videos and deletes no projects. Pictures and clips are made in the software; the assistant gives you the link.
What to ask
A few things architects, planners, developers and private builders ask:
- “Read the ground floor plan at https://… into my project “Haus Berger” and tell me the rooms and their areas.”
- “Furnish all rooms on the ground floor and show me the model in 3D.”
- “Give the house a gable roof with larch cladding, put photovoltaics on the roof and tell me the kWp.”
- “Where does the shadow fall on Lindenweg 7 in Graz at 3 pm on 21 December?”
- “Create the share link for my client and tell me whether they have approved it yet.”
Seven tools without an account
These tools only read. None calls an AI model, costs points or changes anything. The assistant picks the right one; you simply ask.
vedutum_estimate_points— points for a job: reading storeys, check run, images and videos per quality level. “How many points do ten 2K images and two videos take for a two-storey house?”vedutum_sun_and_shadow— sun position, shadow length and direction for a building site and day. “How long is the shadow of a 9 m house in Salzburg at noon on 21 December?”vedutum_check_floor_plan— whether a plan file can be uploaded as it is, and what to change first. “Can I upload the floor plan as DWG, or what should I export from Revit?”vedutum_print_resolution— pixels for a print size and the fitting quality level. “How many pixels does a 3 m site hoarding banner at 100 dpi need?”vedutum_search_knowledge— search across VEDUTUM’s articles, service and feature pages. “What does VEDUTUM say about turning a floor plan into a 3D model?”vedutum_example_project— the study “Haus Lindenweg”: share page, demo and five pictures. “Show me a VEDUTUM example project.”vedutum_get_started— the links to an account and the four steps from plan to share page. “How do I start with my own floor plan?”
With your VEDUTUM account
The assistant asks you to sign in the first time a tool needs your account; you sign in with your normal VEDUTUM login (or open an account with the free month) and allow the connection. From then on it works in your projects:
vedutum_list_projects— your projects, with the state of each plan and the points left.vedutum_get_project— one project: storeys, rooms with their areas, outline area per storey and in total, windows and doors, roof, facade, solar, share link.vedutum_create_project— a new project with client and site address.vedutum_read_floor_plan— reads a floor plan from a public link (PDF, JPG, PNG, WebP) into a measured model — 2 points per storey, as in the software. For a file on your computer it gives you the upload link.vedutum_furnish_rooms— furnishes one room or every room the way a planner would, clear of doors and windows.vedutum_set_design— roof shape, facade, window frames, style, storeys and their height.vedutum_add_solar— photovoltaic modules or collectors on every roof face that does not face north, with module count and kWp.vedutum_set_site_address— the site address for sun and shadow, and the neighbouring buildings, roads and terrain from OpenStreetMap.vedutum_share_link— the share link for your client: model, pictures, comments and approval, without an account.vedutum_undo_last_change— takes the last change made through the assistant back.
Every change shows up in the software at once and can be taken back one step. Only reading a plan costs points; the assistant says so before, and tells you plainly when points or the free month have run out. You end the connection under Account → Connections.
The model in 3D, in the chat
In Claude the tool vedutum_view_model opens your model inside the conversation: turn it, look at single storeys, cut it open, switch to full screen. Without an account it shows the example house.
Links in the answers carry a tag for the assistant (such as utm_source=claude and ref=ki-assistent), so that we can count how many sign-ups come this way.
Claude
Works now on every plan, including the free one, which allows one custom connector. The quickest way is the link, which opens the dialogue with name and address already filled in:
Or by hand:
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
- Choose “Add custom connector”.
- Name: VEDUTUM, URL: the address below. Nothing else to fill in.
- Add. In a chat, the connector can be switched on and off in the tools menu. Claude asks you to connect your VEDUTUM account only when a tool needs it.
https://www.vedutum.com/mcpIn Team and Enterprise organisations, the owner of the organisation adds the connector for everyone; members then switch it on for themselves and connect their own VEDUTUM account.
VEDUTUM has been submitted to Claude’s connector directory. Once it is listed, you find it under Settings → Connectors → Browse connectors and add it with one click.
Claude Code
In a terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http vedutum https://www.vedutum.com/mcpThen type /mcp in Claude Code and choose VEDUTUM to connect your account; the public tools work right away.
ChatGPT
VEDUTUM has applied to ChatGPT’s plugin directory. Until it is listed, users on Pro, Business or Enterprise can add the server as an app in developer mode, using the same address:
- Turn on Settings → Apps (“Plugins”, depending on the version) → Advanced → Developer mode. In Business and Enterprise, the administrators decide whether developer mode is available.
- Choose “Create app”, name it VEDUTUM and enter the address above as the URL.
- Authentication: OAuth for the tools with your account (ChatGPT finds the sign-in by itself), or none for the public tools only. Save, then select it in a chat.
Whether and when plugins are available for accounts in a given country is up to OpenAI’s rollout; we have no say in it.
Gemini
Today Gemini accepts its users’ own servers only in the United States (Gemini Spark) and in Gemini Enterprise, through a company’s administrators. Anyone with access there uses the same address; for everyone else, Gemini is not yet a route to VEDUTUM.
Other MCP clients
Cursor, VS Code and any other client that speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP connect with the same details: the address above, transport Streamable HTTP; sign-in is OAuth and only needed for the tools with your account. Claude Desktop uses the connectors from your Claude account, so the steps above are enough there. For clients with a configuration file:
{
"mcpServers": {
"vedutum": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://www.vedutum.com/mcp"
}
}
}VS Code expects the same entry under servers instead of mcpServers.
Privacy
- What reaches us: only the details the assistant sends for a tool — a town or postcode for the sun position, the number of images, a file type; with your account also a project id, a link to a plan file or a setting you asked for. For the sun position, town and postcode are enough.
- What we do not store: neither the details of the public tools nor the answers, no cookie, nothing of the conversation. The IP address of the calling server — usually the platform’s server, not your connection — is held only in the server’s memory to allow at most 120 calls a minute.
- Connecting your account: we keep which program you connected, when, when it was last used and where its sign-in answer went; the codes and tokens only as a hash. A token is valid for an hour and renews itself for up to 90 days; disconnecting under Account → Connections or deleting the account ends it at once. What the tools change in your projects is stored there, like any change in the software.
- What we count: per day and tool, from which platform, whether signed in, the account (only when signed in) and whether the call worked; and connections, disconnections, sign-ups through the connector, first plan readings and first payments of such accounts. No arguments, no answers.
- Place lookup: for the sun position and the site address, our server sends the place to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service, and for the surroundings the coordinates to OpenStreetMap and the EU-DEM elevation data; these services see our server, not you.
- The conversation itself is between you and the platform, and its privacy policy applies. Ours is in the privacy policy, section 6.
