VEDUTUM’s 3D preview is a browser model built from the floor plan you upload, made for architecture practices and developers who want to check a design before ordering images. Walls, openings, rooms and terraces appear as measurements in metres you can drag into place. You orbit and zoom, cut the model open at sill height, walk through it and set the sun position for the real site at any time of day. A finished glTF or GLB can be viewed too. The preview costs no points.

Why does a preview come before the rendering?
A rendering is the end of a chain of decisions: viewpoint, focal length, time of day, framing. Taking those decisions on the finished image means ordering two or three times. The preview moves them forward, before any compute time is spent.
It also makes the model understandable in the meeting. A volume you can turn, with the right sun at any hour, answers many questions before they are asked.
What can you do in the 3D preview?
Storey by storey
One sheet per storey, up to five storeys and the basement; storeys without their own plan repeat the ground floor.
Measurements, not guesses
Walls, openings, rooms and terraces are numbers you can drag, rename or add.
Check without compute
Rules catch an open outline, an impossible scale, openings without a wall — at once and for free.
Calculate the sun
Latitude, longitude and north angle of the project plus date and time, calculated after the NOAA method.
Site and neighbours
Surrounding buildings from OpenStreetMap, the aerial photo of the plot underneath the model.

How do you get a 3D model from a floor plan?
Create a project
Name, client and address. The address drives sun position and surroundings.
Upload the floor plan
PDF or photo, one sheet per storey, up to 50 MB.
Check the geometry
Drag measurements into place, correct areas, run a check per storey.
Share or compute
Send a link to the client or compute an image or a clip.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a graphics card?
No. The preview runs in any current browser with WebGL. Very large models run more smoothly on devices with a dedicated GPU.
How much does the 3D preview cost?
The preview itself costs no points. Reading a floor plan costs two points per storey, and images and clips are charged on top when you compute them.
Can I upload a finished model instead of a floor plan?
Yes. A glTF or GLB model up to 95 MB can be uploaded and viewed in the browser. An IFC file is converted to GLB in your browser on upload.
How many storeys can the preview show?
Up to five storeys and the basement, with one sheet per storey. Storeys without their own plan repeat the ground floor.
What if the floor plan is hard to read?
Then walls are missing or sit wrong, and you see it immediately in the measurements and drag them into place. A photo 2,000 to 3,000 pixels wide, taken straight on, works far better than an angled phone shot.
How accurate is the sun position?
Accurate to a fraction of a degree for design purposes, provided location and north angle are set correctly. It follows the NOAA solar calculator.
